Revere Beach’s annual Sand Sculpting Festival achieved once again what the best in artistic expression always does: produce something enduringly lovely even though the sands of which these works were composed will return to their former state soon enough. On display were works commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11’s historic space flight to land two astronauts on the moon, as well as several works highlighting the best qualities of the human spirit. The festival itself likewise brought crowds of the curious out to appreciate the sublime artwork, Epicurean delights in a diverse array of food trucks, and all manner of performance art and entertainment.
